How do I sign up?
Signing up is easy and free! Just click the 'Join Free' button on any page, enter your basic information (name, email, age, location), and create a password. From there, you'll be guided through setting up your profile โ adding photos, describing your interests, and telling us what you're looking for. The whole process takes about 5-10 minutes.
Is GoldenMatch really free to join?
Yes! Creating your profile, browsing members, and receiving match suggestions are completely free. We also offer paid plans (Gold at $29/month and Platinum at $49/month) that unlock premium features like unlimited messaging, video calls, and priority support. But you can enjoy the core GoldenMatch experience without paying a cent.
Do I need to be tech-savvy to use GoldenMatch?
Not at all! We've designed GoldenMatch specifically with ease-of-use in mind. Our site features large text, clear buttons, and simple navigation. Many of our members are using a dating site for the first time, and they find our platform intuitive and straightforward. Plus, our support team is always available to help if you get stuck.
Can I use GoldenMatch on my phone or tablet?

What are the different membership plans?
We offer three plans: Free (create a profile, browse members, send 5 messages/day), Gold ($29/month โ unlimited messaging, see who viewed your profile, advanced filters, priority in search, read receipts), and Platinum ($49/month โ everything in Gold plus video calling, monthly profile boost, personal matchmaker assistance, background check badge, and priority customer support).
Can I try premium features before committing?
Yes! New members receive a 7-day free trial of our Gold plan features. This lets you experience unlimited messaging and other premium tools before deciding if an upgrade is right for you. No credit card is required for the trial.
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
You can change your plan anytime from your Account Settings page. If you upgrade, you'll be charged the prorated difference for the remaining billing period. If you downgrade, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle. You'll never lose access to features mid-cycle.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Absolutely. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Account Settings. You'll continue to have access to your paid features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will revert to the Free plan.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), as well as PayPal. All payments are processed securely through our encrypted payment system. We never store your full credit card details on our servers.
Do you offer discounts for longer subscriptions?
Yes! You can save by choosing a quarterly or annual plan. Our Gold plan drops to $22/month when paid quarterly, and $18/month when paid annually. Platinum drops to $39/month quarterly and $32/month annually. These are our best values for members committed to finding a meaningful connection.

Are the profiles on GoldenMatch verified?
Yes! Every profile goes through our manual review process before becoming visible. We check for authenticity and remove fake or suspicious profiles. Platinum members can also earn a 'Background Verified' badge by completing an optional third-party background check, giving other members extra peace of mind.
What should I do if someone makes me uncomfortable?
You can block any member at any time โ they won't be able to see your profile or contact you again. You can also report concerning behavior using the 'Report' button on their profile. Our safety team reviews every report within 1 hour and takes swift action, including account suspension when necessary.
Is my personal information shared with other members?
No. Your email address, phone number, last name, and payment information are never shared with other members. Only the information you choose to include in your public profile is visible. You're always in control of what others can see.
How do you protect my data?

It's a great way to experience GoldenMatch before deciding if you'd like more features.
How does the matching algorithm work?
Our smart matching algorithm considers multiple factors including shared values, common interests and hobbies, lifestyle preferences, location proximity, and relationship goals. Each match comes with a compatibility percentage to help you focus on the most promising connections. Our algorithm was developed by relationship psychologists to prioritize deep compatibility over superficial traits.
Can I search for members in specific locations?
Yes! You can search for members by city, state, zip code, or within a specific radius from your location (e.g., 25 miles, 50 miles, 100 miles). Gold and Platinum members can also filter by additional criteria like interests, education, religion, and relationship goals.
Does GoldenMatch offer video calling?
Yes! Video calling is available to Platinum members. It's built right into our platform โ no need to download any external apps or share your personal phone number or email. It's a wonderful way to see and hear your match before meeting in person, adding an extra layer of safety and connection.
What are 'Virtual Smiles'?

How do I get matched with other members?
GoldenMatch automatically suggests compatible members based on your profile information, interests, values, and location. You'll receive new match suggestions daily in your 'Matches' inbox. You can also browse and search for members on your own using our search tools.
Can I message anyone, or only my matches?
You can message any member on GoldenMatch, not just your suggested matches! Free members can send up to 5 messages per day. Gold and Platinum members enjoy unlimited messaging. We encourage thoughtful, personalized messages โ they get the best responses!
What makes a good first message?
The best first messages are personal and reference something specific from the other person's profile. For example: 'I noticed you love birdwatching โ I just spotted a beautiful cardinal in my backyard!' Ask an open-ended question to invite a response. Avoid generic greetings like 'Hi' or 'How are you?' โ a little effort goes a long way!
Can I share photos in messages?
Yes! All members can share photos within their messages. Your shared photos are private and only visible to the person you send them to. Gold and Platinum members can also create private photo albums that they can share with specific connections.
What if someone doesn't respond to my message?
Don't take it personally! People have different schedules and comfort levels. We recommend waiting a few days before following up. If they still don't respond, it's best to focus your energy on other connections. With over 2 million members, there are plenty of wonderful people waiting to meet you!

Account & Settings
How do I edit my profile?
Log in to your account and click on your profile picture or the 'My Profile' link in the navigation menu. From there, you can update your photos, bio, interests, and preferences anytime. Changes are reviewed by our team and typically go live within a few hours.
Can I temporarily hide my profile?
Yes! If you need a break or want to pause your dating journey, you can hide your profile from Account Settings. Your profile won't appear in search results or match suggestions while hidden, but all your data, messages, and connections will be preserved for when you're ready to come back.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from Account Settings > Delete Account. Please note that this action is permanent โ all your profile data, messages, and connections will be permanently removed. If you just need a break, consider hiding your profile instead.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page and enter the email address associated with your account. We'll send you a secure link to create a new password. The link expires after 24 hours for security purposes. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder or contact our support team.
How do I change my email address?
Go to Account Settings > Email Address and enter your new email. We'll send a verification link to your new email address. Once verified, your account will be updated. For security, we also send a notification to your old email address to confirm the change.
Can I get help from a real person?
Absolutely! Our customer support team is made up of real, caring humans โ not chatbots.
